It's a holiday tradition. A child unwraps their new set of Lego bricks, followed shortly by a pained scream from a barefoot mom or dad when they step on one of the tiny blocks.

This year, the creative minds at Lego Group have designed slippers to protect parents from feeling that familiar pain.

The toy giant teamed up with a French advertising agency to create and market the Lego-branded slippers. According to French blog Piwee.net, only 1,500 pairs were produced and all will be given away free to lucky parents who fill out a Christmas wish list on Lego's French website.

For now, enjoy this Vine that shows just how real the struggle of stepping on a Lego brick is.
