UPDATE: Coroner identifies motorcyclist killed Wednesday

UPDATE ON MARCH 30: The motorcyclist has been identified as 21-year-old Miguel Mayoral Lazo of Henderson.

UPDATE 4:20 P.M.: The motorcyclist has died following the crash.

The motorcyclist was a 21-year-old man from Las Vegas. He died at UMC Trauma.

Police said he was traveling a Honda westbound on Flamingo while a Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound. The Toyota turned left across Flamingo and failed to yield to the motorcyclist.

The driver of the Toyota remained on scene and showed no signs of intoxication, according to police.

This is the 32nd traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police's jurisdiction in 2017.

ORIGINAL STORY

Las Vegas police are investigating a critical-injury crash near Flamingo Road and South Durango Drive on Wednesday.

Officials were called to the scene around noon. A motorcycle and a vehicle collided. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with what appear to be life-threatening injuries.

Both east and westbound lanes of Flamingo Road are closed between Durango and Riley Street. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
