A man is dead following a stabbing Friday night near Washington Avenue and H Street.
Police confirmed a male was stabbed by an unknown subject at the 700 block of Adams Street around 8:40 p.m.
The victim was transported to UMC Trauma where he later died. The Clark County coroner identified him as 38-year-old Terrance Eugene Butler of North Las Vegas.
The investigation indicated the victim was with a group of people near the street. A verbal altercation turned into a physical fight between the victim and another man. The victim fell to the ground and the group of people left the scene on foot.
The suspect could only be described as a light-skinned black man wearing dark pants and a white T-shirt. The motive for this incident is unknown.
This is the 114th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2015.
