UPDATE: David Coleman's bail was set to $750,000 at a hearing Tuesday. It had been set for $1.1 million.
One man is dead and another is in custody after a fatal crash on Las Vegas Boulevard and Hamilton Street.
Police say it happened around 9 p.m. Saturday when a Toyota Camry hit a moped. The driver of the Camry drove off, but police were able to apprehend him on Las Vegas Boulevard and Bonneville Avenue. 35-year-old David Coleman was arrested for driving under the influence resulting in death and felony reckless driving resulting in death.
The driver of the moped was pronounced dead on scene. He was 24 years old. The Clark County coroner identified him as Thomas Earl Phillips of Las Vegas.
Police say the suspect was speeding and alcohol does appear to be a factor.
