Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash

A motorcyclist is dead and a passenger critically injured after a hit-and-run crash Saturday night.

The crash happened around 10:10 p.m. Saturday at Charleston Boulevard and Sacramento Drive when a Hummer H2 and a Suzuki motorcycle collided. Police reported that the motorcycle was making a left turn and hit the right front of the Hummer.

The operator and passenger of the motorcycle were both ejected. The operator was pronounced dead at the scene while the passenger was transported to UMC Trauma with critical injuries. No other details about the motorcycle occupants have been released.

Police reported the driver of the Hummer left the scene on foot without stopping to render aid or exchange information. The driver is described as a Hispanic man with short hair. The Hummer passenger remained at the scene.

This is the 81st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2015.
