'How We Mourned' 1 October exhibit to open Friday

A new exhibit opens this week, showing the items left at memorials around Las Vegas honoring the 58 victims of the 1 October shooting.

13 Action News got a sneak peek Monday of the "How We Mourned" exhibit at the Clark County Museum, located at 1830 S. Boulder Highway. The exhibit opens to the public on Friday and will be open through Feb. 24.

A selection of the items left at the memorials will make up the exhibit, including flags, stuffed animals, rosaries, artificial flowers, signs, letters, banners, candles, art works, and a portion of a large Hawaiian lei that was left to promote world peace. Also included are items left at the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign.

Admission is $1 for children and seniors and $2 for adults. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seven days a week.
