Las Vegas Police testing gunshot detection technology

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will be testing a gunshot detection system called ShotSpotter. The system uses sensors and acoustic surveillance to alert law enforcement of illegal gunfire incidents. ShotSpotter is currently used in 90 cities.
