LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department teamed up with other local law enforcement to host a women's safety training seminar Tuesday morning.

The event was open to businesses and groups around the valley for their members and employees, according to police.

The training was held at police headquarters and officers put together the seminar to remind women to stay vigilant, especially during the holiday season.

Police said Tuesday's event was not a self-defense class, but more of situational awareness and evaluation course with a lecture.
