Local veterans travel to Washington DC with Honor Fight

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — From Las Vegas to Washington D.C., 25 local veterans are traveling to Washington thanks to Honor Flight Southern Nevada.

The veterans boarded a plane Friday morning at Mccarran Airport while other passengers cheered them on.

Then, the applause continued upon landing in the nation’s capital from thankful strangers.

Saturday, the 25 veterans, who fought in Vietnam, Korea and World War II will visit the Arlington National Cemetery and various memorials around the capital.

This weekend flight marks the 14th honor flight, and more than 420 local veterans have flown to DC to see the memorials with the help of Honor Flight Southern Nevada.
