LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police are trying to stop the Grinch from stealing Christmas by cracking down on theft during the holidays.

As part of the Holiday Safety Initiative, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is joining forces with Henderson Police Department and North Las Vegas Police Department to make it possible.

Police will patrol outside of malls and stores, some will wear plain clothes and patrol inside the stores.

Las Vegas police also say to lock your car when shopping and do not leave valuables inside the car.

Also, authorities suggest you hide any items that must be kept in the vehicle.
