LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Former Nevada State Senator Allison Copening has passed away.
A spokesperson says she died Saturday after battling a brief illness.
Copening was elected to District 6 of the Nevada Senate in 2008 where she served until 2012.
A celebration of life will be held this Friday at 11 a.m. at Canyon Ridge Christian Church. It is open to the public.
Copening was 55.
Canyon Ridge Christian Church is located at 6200 Lone Mountain Road.
