LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Downtown Las Vegas Events Center was packed with loyal Vegas Golden Knights fans who wanted to take in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoff with the hometown crowd.

"You got to love it,” said Bobby Digital. “After so many years of people saying we're not going to have a professional team because of the gambling. And now finally we got one and its two years straight in the playoffs. Got to love it!"

The Golden Knights shocked everyone last year making it to the finals in their inaugural season. And fans have every reason to be excited for this season two second chance at the Stanley Cup.

“It meant a lot last year and after everything that happened to this city,” said Amanda Heath. “It really bought everybody together. And this year even more. It really feels like a community in this city.”

There's only one thing fans are craving as much as bringing the Stanley Cup to Las Vegas:

“I think we're going to get a parade this year! Here in Las Vegas let's get that parade,” Digital said. “All I'm wondering is where it's going to be.”

“And it should start at the New York-New York roller coaster,” said another fan. “And go all the way down the rest of The Strip!”
