HENDERSON (KTNV) — Vice President Joe Biden is hoping to get a lift for his 2020 presidential campaign as Capt. Sully Sullenberger landed in Henderson to stump ahead of Nevada's 2020 Presidential Caucus.

Sullenberger rose to national acclaim by landing a crippled US Airways passenger jet into the Hudson River in 2009.

All of the 155 souls on board survived.

Sullenberger has kept a high public profile since the incident, speaking out about airline safety and politics.

Friday's Henderson event was held at Sun City MacDonald Ranch and coincided with the start of early caucus voting, which begins Saturday and runs through Tuesday.

Biden and the other Democratic candidates have events planned leading up to the Feb. 22 Caucus.
