LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Las Vegas family is desperate for answers as police continue to search for missing 26-year-old Jawaher Hejji.

“She was like a second mother to all my siblings, and it’s been really hard because she can’t just disappear,” says Mariam Hejji.

Mariam is still trying to wrap her mind around how her sister could be gone without a trace.

Police say Jawaher Hejji was last seen on Dec. 22 along South Las Vegas Boulevard near Pebble Road.

However, Mariam says Jawaher’s car was found near a construction site in Henderson along Shaded Canyon Drive.

“All her belongings were found inside her car, her cell phone, her wallet,” says Mariam.

The location in Henderson is a trailhead for the Amargosa Trial, and Mariam says the family has done countless searches in the area to try and find Jawaher.

13 Action News has learned that Red Rock Search and Rescue also helped with the search, under the direction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say the investigation is still open, and investigators believe Jawaher may be in severe emotional distress.

“It’s almost been two weeks now, she’s just gone with no signs of her,” says Mariam.

Jawaher was last seen wearing a pink hoodie and black sweat pants. She is 5-feet 8-inches tall and 190 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding Hejji and her whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact LVMPD at (702) 828-3111 or by email at missingpersons@lvmpd.com.
