A 91-year-old Henderson man was struck by a car and killed while crossing Whitney Ranch Drive north of Sunset Road on Monday.
The man was crossing Whitney Ranch Drive heading east when he was struck by a 2008 Chrysler two-door car traveling south at about 1 p.m. The man was crossing the road outside a marked crosswalk.
He was identified as Alberto Ciaglia from Las Vegas.
The man was transported with critical injuries to Sunrise Trauma Center and was later pronounced dead.
The 49-year-old Henderson woman driving the car was not injured and remained at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
Southbound Whitney Ranch Drive was closed for about two and a half hours while traffic officers conducted their investigation.
