UPDATE ON MARCH 06: The Clark County coroner has identified the deceased as 34-year-old Luis Antonio Carrasco of Las Vegas.

ORIGINAL STORY

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- A man is dead after he rear-ended a Southwest Gas truck.

It happened around 11:11 p.m. Sunday near East Cactus Avenue and South Bermuda Road. Police say that a 34-year-old male was driving a 2009 Infiniti G37 east on East Cactus Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign and ran into the gas company's truck.

The impact forced the truck into the intersection and the Infiniti caught on fire.

The drive was taken to UMC Trauma where he died.

His death is the 23rd traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas for this year.

The coroner will release the name of the deceased after relatives have been notified. The Southwest Gas employee was not injured.
