UPDATE 1:20 P.M. DETR released the following update on delayed benefit payments:

PAYMENT UPDATE: There is a delay in unemployment benefits reaching claimants. We anticipate that this problem will be fixed in 48 hours. We understand the urgency in correcting this matter and will work to resolve the issue as soon as we can so Nevadans can receive much needed benefits. Claimants do not need to take any action at this time.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation says it recently learned of an "issue causing payment delays" and acknowledged "frustration" the issue is causing claimants entitled to benefits.

The agency did not specify what the issue is but says it is working as fast as it can to resolve it.
