One man is dead after being shot outside an apartment complex near Tropicana Avenue and Pecos, and his family says his life could have been saved.

The fatal shooting happened in the 3500 block of Villa Knolls North Drive at the Tropicana Villas.

A man was found in the complex with apparent gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Police say the victim was found about 30 minutes after the shooting happened. Once police started doing interviews, they found out several people heard the gunshots, but didn't call police.

"For us, it's a little bit of a concern," says Ltn. Dan McGrath, with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. "We had multiple people that heard gunshots, that didn't call police."

The victim's niece told 13 Action News he was riding his bike to stay at his sister's. She says her family now has to live with the fact that he's gone, simply because other people may not have wanted to get involved.

"I think people just don't want to say anything and just keep to themselves," she told 13 Action News.

Police say they have no suspects, as of Monday morning. The Clark County coroner identified the deceased on Monday afternoon as 40-year-old Michael Wayne Bartoli.
