UPDATE: New court date scheduled for truck driver accused of hitting bicyclists

DEC. 24 UPDATE: Jordan Barson was scheduled to appear in a Las Vegas courtroom on Thursday morning but he is currently in quarantine. A new court date was scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Dec. 30.

ORIGINAL STORY
The truck driver who has been charged in the deaths of 5 bicyclists on Dec. 10 just outside of Boulder City is in Clark County Detention Center.

45-year-old Jordan Barson was being held in Mohave County, Arizona, on DUI charges.

He has been transferred to the detention center and is facing 5 counts of DUI resulting in death, 1 count of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, and 6 counts of reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm.

According to the district attorney, Barson had a significant amount of methamphetamine in his system when he drove his box truck into the bicyclists on U.S. 95 near Nelson Road.
