When medical personnel arrived they pronounced the 17-year-old dead at the scene.

The 44-year-old father was transported to UMC where he is said to be stable.

Preliminary details show that just before the shooting, the family's truck was stolen from their residence.

The father and son went out in their other vehicle looking for the stolen truck and found it just down the street occupied by a male.

When the 17-year-old victim exited the vehicle to confront the person, the male shot the 17-year-old.

When the 44-year-old victim went to help his son, the suspect also shot him before fleeing the scene in the stolen truck.

A few hours later, the stolen truck was located in the 2700 block of Perliter Avenue unoccupied.

Detectives are not prepared to release suspect information at this time.

The coroner's office will release the identity, and cause and manner of death, after proper notification to next of kin.
