A suspect has been arrested for the violent murder of a man during a fight last week.

19-year-old Nathan Ivey was arrested Tuesday by the Las Vegas police Criminal Apprehension Team in the northwest part of the valley. Ivey was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he faces one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

Police said that Rodney "Michael" Reiger was bludgeoned, stabbed and shot multiple times the night of April 26 at an apartment complex in the 5100 block of O'Bannon Drive, near Decatur Boulevard.

Police initially responded to reports of a fight and possible gunshots at the complex. Arriving officers located an unresponsive man lying on the ground between two buildings. Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Officers were also advised that a man who had possibly been involved in the fight had just been transported to UMC Trauma from another residence for treatment of injuries.

Homicide detectives determined a group of people came to the complex and confronted another group of people. A verbal altercation and physical fight then occurred between multiple people, resulting in the death of one man and non-life threatening injuries to the other.
