The arrest report for 39-year-old Ronald Beattie, accused of murder, has been released.

According to the report, the victim, Lorenzo Price, was dropping off a child at the child's mother's apartment in the 5400 block of East Harmon Avenue on April 27 when Price got into an argument with the mother's new boyfriend, Ronald Beattie.

Witnesses told police that they saw the two men arguing before the shooting and were able to provide a description of the man.

The child's mother initially said that she was inside of the apartment during the shooting but then admitted she was outside.

She told police that she had been seeing the suspect for a few weeks before the shooting and but had no idea why anyone would shoot him.

On May 8, police received an anonymous call from a person who identified Beattie as the shooter. Detectives learned that Beattie owned a gun and asked a judge to put a tap and trace on his phone.

On May 13, police received information that indicated Beattie was at a residence in the 2200 block of Diamond Pointe Street. Several attempts were made to persuade Beattie to come outside but he refused. SWAT and crisis negotiators were notified.

Beattie was eventually taken into custody and booked in the Clark County Detention Center on open murder with use of deadly weapon.
