LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A North Las Vegas woman is facing charges after it was discovered she allowed her two children to be abused by her boyfriend.

27-year-old Cathalyn Davis was arrested by Las Vegas police on Dec. 8. She was charged with 2 counts of child abuse resulting in substantial bodily harm.

According to a warrant declaration, Davis would allow Jermaine Tatum to beat her 2-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter with belts and cords and also knew he burned the children with cigarette lighters and a welding torch.

More than 70 burns, scars and wounds were found on the girl and more than 30 similar markings were found on the boy. The children are described as permanently disfigured.

According to the report, Davis met Tatum on a dating website in November 2019. They began living together at a Siegel Suites in North Las Vegas.

They decided to move to Missouri in March 2020 and spent their time there living in extended-stay hotels.

Tatum would watch the children when Davis was at work.

At some point, Davis returned to North Las Vegas area. On June 10, Davis took the children to a Southwest Medical Center on Civic Center Drive.

The medical center contacted police and a criminal complaint was filed.

Police have been unable to contact Tatum. There is also a warrant for his arrest.
