LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Police say a man is dead after being shot by his girlfriend on Wednesday night.
The situation began around 8:30 p.m. Police say they responded to a call at an apartment complex near Lake Mead Boulevard and Los Feliz Street.
When they arrived, a hysterical woman came out and said her boyfriend had threatened to kill her. Police initially believed that a man was holed up inside of a vehicle and that led to a barricade situation involving SWAT.
Eventually they discovered that the man was dead inside the car.
The woman told police that she shot her boyfriend. She was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. It's unknown at this time if she will be charged.

This is the 3rd fatal incident this month involving people in their 20s or younger.
An 18-year-old was reportedly shot and killed by her boyfriend on March 24. The man also killed himself.
A man also shot and killed a woman in a car on March 20 before killing himself.
