On Dec. 10, at around 5:00 a.m., LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 7100 block of Alexander Road to investigate reports of a man down.
Officers located an unresponsive male laying in the grass outside of an apartment building with an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
He was identified as 25-year-old Yonas Andebrehan. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates the victim was shot and ran a short distance before succumbing to his injuries.
No suspect or suspects have been identified and the motive appears to be robbery related.
This is the 124th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2015.
