Police have arrested a man suspected in a fatal stabbing in August.
32-year-old Sergey Mkhitaryan was arrested on Nov. 19 in Panama, with the assistance of several fugitive task forces and federal agencies. An arrest warrant for murder with a deadly weapon was issued. He was transported to Los Angeles and is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas.
57-year-old Avetis Shilgevorkyan died in the Aug. 20 stabbing at a business in the 6600 block of West Flamingo Road, near Torrey Pines Drive.
The initial investigation indicated the victim was in a physical altercation with an individual known to him. After the fight was broken up, the suspect left the scene but returned moments later. The victim and suspect got into a second altercation when the victim was stabbed multiple times.
