LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police say that three people were shot during what appears to have been a drug deal early Wednesday morning.

According to Lt. Ray Spencer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, two men and one female in her late teens went to an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Nellis Boulevard near Lake Mead Boulevard to possibly purchase marijuana.

When they arrived, a male in his late teens got into the empty front passenger seat of the driver’s Jeep.

During the deal, another male in his late teens walked up to the Jeep with an AR-15 style weapon.

The driver attempted to take away the weapon and was shot in the head.

The other man in the Jeep, sitting in back seat, pulled out his gun and reportedly shot the male outside the vehicle.

The male in the front passenger seat was also shot during the incident.

The driver of the Jeep was able to leave the scene and called 9-1-1.

When police arrived, they found a male with a gunshot wound to the head in the apartment complex. He was transported to a hospital where he died.

The driver of the Jeep was also transported to a hospital and is in critical condition.

Another male, presumably the male who was in the front passenger seat, showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

Police believe that the two males may be related and possibly brothers.

This is a developing story and the incident is still under investigation.

The coroner will release the name of the deceased.
