At approximately 7:49 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2017, officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of East Bonanza Road to investigate reports of gunshots.
Officers located a man on Bonanza Road in front of an apartment complex suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UMC Trauma where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed the victim, 37-year-old Angel Gutierrez, was standing on the sidewalk in front of 4000 E. Bonanza with an unknown man. People in the area heard gunshots, saw Gutierrez on the ground, and saw the other man flee the area.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 16 and 20 years old. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, dark colored shorts, and white socks.

Detectives continue to investigate this crime and would like to speak with anyone who has knowledge of who Gutierrez may have been talking to just before this incident.
