LATEST INFORMATION: Police identified the man shot by a police officer on May 14 as 54-year-old Alex Underdown and released details of what let up to Tuesday's deadly shooting.

Police say that they received a call from the man's wife who told them that the couple had been drinking and were fighting. She told police that her husband had several guns and had threatened her in the past. However, at that time, the woman said she was not injured.

Upon arrival, the woman came out of the Country Club home and she had a black eye and facial injuries. Police then made contact by phone with the man inside the home and asked him to come outside.

Underdown came out of the home, yelling and cursing at officers and holding a Glock.

Police say that he put the gun underneath his chin several times, threatening to shoot. At some point, he pointed his gun at a group of officers in a neighbor's yard and Officer Burbrink opened fire.

The shooting is still under investigation. This is the 3rd shooting involving Las Vegas police for 2019. By this time last year, there had been 6 shootings involving the police department.
