LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — UPDATE AUG. 11: The Clark County Coroner has identified the woman who was killed as 29-year-old Laura Kagan. Kagan's death was due to multiple gunshot wounds and it was ruled a homicide.
Las Vegas police say they are investigating a homicide in the 2600 block of South Pavilion Center near West Sahara Avenue.
Police say a man called 9-1-1 and said that he shot his daughter.
His daughter, who is reportedly in her late 20s, was transported to a hospital where she died.
Police say that the man, who is in his 60s, is claiming that it was self-defense. Police also said the father and daughter lived together.
Police are still investigating. If anyone has any information, they are asked to call the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The Clark County coroner will identify the deceased at a later time.
