UPDATE JULY 7: The Clark County Coroner has identified the man whose body was found as 41-year-old Brandon Dixon. His death was due to a gunshot wound to the chest and it was ruled a homicide.
Las Vegas police say they responded to an area near Exeter Drive and Mendon Lane after reports of an adult male being found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical professionals.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Lt Rick Meyers provided a brief update to the media and said the area near the scene will be roped off for the next several hours.
No further details about a shooter or the victim were made available.
