UPDATE: Vegas police identity man arrested in woman's beating death

UPDATE JULY 20: The Clark Count Coroner has identified the victim as 29-year-old Herleen Dulai. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma with an extenuating cause of strangulation, a homicide.

UPDATE JULY 17: Las Vegas police identified the man arrested in connection with a woman who was found deceased in the 8400 block of Blackstone Ridge Court, near Blue Diamond Road and Decatur Boulevard.

Akshaya Kubiak, 38, was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center and is facing an open murder charge.

The woman in the incident was found dead with signs of trauma. Police say they believe Kubiak was under the influence of narcotics and beat her to death.

The identification of the woman will be released by the Clark County Coroner's office after family has been informed.

TMZreports Kubiak also went by the name Ash Armand while appearing in the "Gigolos" Showtime series.

Las Vegas police say they have arrested a man for the death of a woman on Thursday morning at a home on Blackstone Ridge Court near Blue Diamond Road and Decatur Boulevard.

Lt. Ray Spencer said the man called 911 around 10:20 a.m. Upon arrival, police officers and medical personnel found a dead woman inside of the home. It appears that the man and woman were boyfriend and girlfriend.

WATCH PRESS CONFERENCE

Spencer said during a press conference that it appears that there was some type of struggle that led to the woman's death. However, a weapon was not used.

It is not known at this time if police have visited the home before.

The man was described as being in his late 30s and the woman was described as being in her early 30s.

The Clark County coroner will release the name of the woman after relatives have been notified.

Police will also release more information when it becomes available.
