Las Vegas man allegedly stabs wife, stepdaughter after baby powder fight

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A 49-year-old Las Vegas man was arrested last weekend for reportedly stabbing his wife and stepdaughter at their home in the 3600 block of East Owens Avenue near North Pecos Road.

Police received a call at 11:44 p.m. July 11. Upon arrival, police found a woman who had been stabbed in the neck and a girl with cuts to her hands. Both were transported to a local hospital.

Police placed Delaine Kelley under arrest. According to the arrest report, Kelley was fighting with his wife when the stepdaughter tried to intervene.

It started with a play fight with baby powder earlier in the evening. The argument began when Delaine Kelley allegedly called another child a name.

Kelley is facing charges of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon and domestic battery.

Kelley was also charged with child abuse for saying he was going to stab one of the other children in the home.
