UPDATE: 2 students arrested for bringing guns to school

UPDATE AT 3:10 P.M.

Another student at a different high school was arrested for possessing a gun on school property.

Around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, CCSD Police arrested a 17-year-old female at Desert Rose Adult High School after students reported to school administrators that she had a gun in her purse.

No threats were made, but CCSD Police say that there was one round in the chamber of the gun.

ORIGINAL STORY

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- A 17-year-old student at Palo Verde High School was arrested after a gun was found in his backpack on school property around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Clark County School District Police say that a school administrator found the gun in the student's backpack. The gun was discovered while the administrator was performing her regular duties.

Ammunition was also found in the backpack, though the gun was not loaded. No threats were made by the student.
