UPDATE DEC. 05: Jason Paul Carroll has been arrested, according to the district attorney's office. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 7. No details of his arrest were released.

ORIGINAL STORY

The District Attorney's Office wants your help finding a fugitive who was pretty good at reading the minds of a jury a few months ago. He was so sure they were about to find him guilty for leaving the scene of a crash that he took off and hasn't been seen since.

Kevin Montgomery was on his motorcycle when Jason Paul Carroll ran him down and left him to die.

"When I woke up, I saw the undercarriage of his car," said Montgomery. "My whole left side was broken up. About 48 bones in my body."

But Montgomery's desire to see Carroll behind bars goes beyond justice. He's also afraid Carroll is so desperate to avoid prison, he might hurt a police officer.

"What I'm worried about is the cop that pulls him over for something simple, and he's armed and dangerous, and I'm afraid he's going to shoot his way out of it," Montgomery explained.

District Attorney Steve Wolfson agrees, especially since his criminal record probably means he's looking at anywhere from six to 20 years in prison when he's caught.

"Kind of a dangerous guy," Wolfson said. "He's a five-time convicted felon."
