1 dead after shooting at car wash in North Las Vegas

NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person is dead after a shooting in North Las Vegas on Sunday.

The North Las Vegas Police Department says officers responded to reports of a shooting at a car wash on North Martin Luther King Boulevard near Carey Avenue shortly before 11 a.m.

Arriving officers found a man, believed to be around 42 years old, who had been shot in the head.

He was transported to University Medical Center where he died. His identity will be released by the coroner.

The shooter was gone before the officers arrived, the department says.

Police do not know yet what led to the shooting and are working with witnesses to get information.

This is not believed to be a random act of violence, police say.

The detectives may remain on the scene for the next few hours.
