LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The staff at Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Las Vegas held a 'clap out' for a local COVID-19 patient who has recovered.

John Foster is a paramedic and had been fighting the virus for five months. Two of those months, he was unconscious. But Friday, he walked out a survivor.

"I wanted to stay alive; I had too many things to do. I just kept the faith and listened to the people around me and kept pushing and pushing," Foster said.

Foster was also reunited with family and friends, who he hadn't seen since being admitted into the hospital.
