Low COVID-19 transmission rate leads to Esmeralda County dropping mask mandate

ESMERALDA COUNTY (KTNV) — Face coverings are no longer required in parts of western Nevada.

The mask mandate in Esmeralda County is lifting today due to the county's low COVID-19 transmission rates.

Nevada Health Response says the county has kept the transmission rate low for two weeks.

As of 2019, the reported population of Esmeralda County was 969 people.
