Las Vegas visitation down almost 60% for March 2020

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is reporting that visitation to Las Vegas during the month of March was down 58.6% overall compared to last year.

1,531,100 people visited Las Vegas in March. That is compared to 3,697,100 in March of 2019.

March is usually one of the strongest months for Las Vegas because of conventions and trade shows.

Convention/trade show attendance was down 54.8%. 248,800 people visited this year for a convention/trade show in comparison to 552,200 in March 2019.

The total hotel occupancy rate for March 2020 was 39.8%. In March 2019, it was $91.5%.
