LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Finding a solution to keep your kids productive can be a challenge. Social media can keep them busy, but it could also be a problem.

Cyber security expert Lisa Good is warning parents about the dangers of social media and the risk on the dark web.

Good said the dark web was originally created by the military and the government to be used for good.

But now, criminals are using it and it's becoming a playground for kids.

"On the dark web kids can buy fake IDs, drugs, hire hackers and more," Good said.

Good said secret or vault apps are also becoming a nightmare for parents.

"Kids are hiding their photos or messages in secret apps," Good said.

Good said parents should say no to Tik Tok or Snapchat.

According to the FBI, Snap chat is the top app that predators use to contact kids.
