LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Technology that can instantly detect if someone has a fever could soon be seen in Las Vegas casinos and businesses.

The COVID-19 Fever Sensor Kiosk is the latest innovation from Popshap, an interactive kiosk company that's hoping to prevent the spread of the disease.

Fever is one of the common symptoms of COVID-19.

“Once it has a grip on your face, and that takes like a second, its not a lengthy process and it’ll take your temperature,” says Magid.

The kiosks are fully automated, offer facial recognition, and some include a dispenser for hand sanitizer.

“It will say that you have high temperature, and the machine will go red and flash an alarm,” says Magid.

Magid expects that Las Vegas will see a good chunk of their kiosks in the future.

“We have offices, warehouses and facilities in Las Vegas so for us, it’s a key market to help them get back to business,” says Magid.
