AVN Show cancels in-person Las Vegas 2021 events, goes digital amid pandemic

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The AVN Media Network announced its upcoming 2021 Adult Video News annual events will not be held in Las Vegas but instead online due to the ongoing coronavirs pandemic.

The AVN Awards Show, GayVN Awards Show, AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, AVN Novelty Expo, and VIBE Program will become all-digital events in January.

The events were set to take place in January from 18-23. The location has changed but the schedule is expected to remain the same with the move to the digital format.

“The health and safety of our attendees and exhibitors is our top priority, so out of an abundance of caution we’ve made the difficult decision to not hold our January events in-person, but instead create a digital experience that will give industry professionals and the fans of adult entertainment unique opportunities to interact online,” said Tony Rios, chief executive officer for AVN Media Network.

The 38th annual AVN Awards Show will be held Jan. 23, 2021 online here with the GayVN Awards Show on Jan. 18, 2021, and carried online here.

“Both of our awards shows will remain on their respective nights, but due to the current circumstances affecting public health, these ceremonies will be presented in a digital format only for this year," Rios said.

CES 2021 going digital, will not return to Las Vegas next year

The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will continue to be held Jan. 20-23, 2021, and the digital experience will be designed to maximize opportunities for fans to virtually meet their favorite creators through the AVN Stars platform, according to a company spokesperson.

The current event schedule released is as follows:

-GayVN Awards Show: January 18, 2021
-ANE: January 20-22, 2021
-VIBE Program: January 20-22, 2021
-AEE: January 20-23, 2021
-AVN Awards Show: January 23, 2021
