Local preps for terror attacks

Many locals are wondering if the attacks in Paris are having an impact on us here in Las Vegas?

What plans are in place if violence like this erupts here in our city which is  an inter-national travel destination?

Metro says they've been monitoring the situation in Paris all afternoon.  Just like in any terrorist attack anywhere, we here have a Homeland Security section which immediately acts to assess our own vulnerability and determine if there's a need to increase our own security.

Metro says there's no known threat to Las Vegas at this point.  But they are  in what they're calling vigilant mode, especially in the Strip corridor.  They say they're in close contact with their resort partners and will remain so as events in Paris develop.

We also checked with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.  They say it's too early to tell if there will be any impact on visitation.  But they too are keeping an eye on Paris travel.

Officials at the airport tell us that because there are no direct flights between Las Vegas and Paris, there's no impact there---no delays or re-routed flights.
