The group said Echevarria was a father, a grandfather, a son and a friend to many.

Police say Echevarria was driver his Hyundai when it was struck by a Dodge Challenger that was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The 52-year-old was transported to Sunrise Hospital and pronounced deceased.

Zaon Collins, 19, a star basketball player and UNLV recruit, was behind the wheel of the Challenger and arrested on DUI charges in the crash.
