Cinemark movie theaters have now banned large bags inside theaters.

Bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches will not be permitted. Exceptions may be made for medical equipment and diaper bags.

The company says it is taking this action in light of shootings at theaters in Colorado and Louisiana.

13 Action News spoke with customers at one of the Cinemark Theaters near Boulder Highway and Lake Mead Parkway.

"I don't think that every day someone is just going to walk into a movie theater and just starting shooting," said one man.

No matter how unlikely the threat, another woman said she always takes precautions in the theater.

"I don't like sitting in the middle because I have to think about where I am going to go if something happens," she said.

The ban was not controversial to most customers our crew encountered.

Cinemark has several theaters around the valley including The Orleans, South Point, and Santa Fe Station.
