A car crashed into a business near Tropicana Avenue and Decatur Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The owner of Yenat Market, a local Ethiopian food market, and another employee were inside the store during the crash. No one was hurt.

"I was making sure nobody was hurt, that was the only worry to have," says store owner, Nebyou Gedikad.  "I don't care about the property."

Police say a man was pulling into a parking spot when his sandal got caught underneath the gas pedal, and his car jolted forward into the store.

Several members of the Ethiopian community arrived moments after the crash to help with the cleanup.

"It's a cultural thing," says one customer, Yoseph Mangesha.  "Ethiopians are tight, socially we are tight.  And if something happens to somebody we help out."

According to reports, alcohol did not play a factor into the crash. Police did not cite the driver.
