UPDATE: The coroner has identified the victim as 56-year-old Robert Francis Morrison of Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police are investigating a body found close to a park near Buffalo Drive and Washington Avenue in the northwest area of the valley.

The body was found on a sidewalk at approximately 9:20 a.m.

Police said the body was of a middle-aged man. Investigators do not suspect foul play and there was no sign of struggle of violence.

"Doesn't look like there's any sign of a struggle or any sign of violence," said Lt. Steve Summers. "Right now it appears that it may just be that the subject was out here exercising when he collapsed. Of course all of that is preliminary and it will depend on the medical examiner's findings."

Police did gather up prescription pill bottles that were found near the body.

Nearby neighbors said this isn't typical of the area.

"This is unusual for this to happen around here," Billy Landry said.
