LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas residents Lashona and Charles Deary were only married for 11 months before they found out life-changing news.

"I woke up one morning, and I was completely blind in my left eye due to two types of rare glaucoma and 95% blind in my right eye," Charles Deary said.

Despite his disability, Charles was determined to live a normal life.

A rare opportunity came along thanks to a local nonprofit called Capability Health and Services. Their mission is to find work for Nevadans with disabilities.

With the help of this group, Sephora offered Charles a job at their distribution center as a packing worker.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada also stepped in to help, providing transportation for Charles to get back and forth to work for free.

Charles is using this opportunity to start over and turn his disability into hope.
