LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Bees are taking over an apartment complex in east Las Vegas, and neighbors say they want the hive to be taken care of after a girl got stung.

The injured girl said a bee stung her in the shoulder from a hive located inside the Harmon Hills apartment complex, located near Harmon Avenue and Boulder Highway.

13 Action News checked the hive on Wednesday, and while it was noticeably smaller, according to residents, pest control experts warn that bees in Southern Nevada can pose serious problems.

The apartment management team informed 13 Action News that a pest control company will be handling the hive this week.

Also, pest control experts shared these tips to help keep bees out of your home:

-Seal up any openings so that bees cannot get inside your home.
-Keep your landscaping trimmed.
-If you notice bees going into any walls, call a pest control company right away.
