August is Child Support Awareness Month recognizing the critical role child support plays in children’s lives and applauding those parents who provide financial support to their children.
 
Established through proclamation by former President Bill Clinton, August 2016 celebrates the 41st anniversary of the national child support program and the 21st anniversary of National Child Support Awareness Month.
 
To commemorate Child Support Awareness Month, Governor Brian Sandoval has issued a proclamation commending Nevada’s responsible parents and child support professionals for the hard work and dedication necessary to make a difference in the lives of children and families.
 
Special events are scheduled around the Silver State in observation of Child Support Awareness Month.
 
Included in the activities is the Clark County District Attorney Family Support Division’s annual Child Support Awareness/Back to School Outreach event on August 6, 2016.
 
The Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program is a partnership of state and county agencies working in conjunction with the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement.
